Who exactly are we?

We are a family run small business comprising of Owner & Managing Director Julie, along side daughter Alyse, the owner of Pobi Bach Bakery, and a trader at most of our events.  We are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated team of family volunteers who support our traders at all events, as well as a fantastic team of staff and regular line-up of talented entertainers. 

We founded Urban Markets and Events in February 2022 and now manage four regular local markets and events, plus regular pop-ups and charity events. We provide local, small independent businesses a well-organised and varied platform to showcase their trades and help grow their businesses.

As traders ourselves we understand the work that goes into running a small business, and the difficulties owners face when attending local markets and events. We put our traders first and aim to support each business to make our events as enjoyable and profitable as possible for them. 

We have around 30 traders at most events and over 120 on our books. We have a strict “no cross over” product policy to minimise competition for every trader, and to provide a unique and varied selection of goods to our visitors.  Many of our traders have been with us since day one and we are thrilled to see our regular customers return to Urban Markets time and time again - supporting so many of their local small businesses.
